Purple Iris - Watercolor Painting I am also working on Update 1
I worked more on the shadows on the white part of the Iris and started to develop the stem and bud. I still have a long ways to go on this one. Thanks for stopping in. I hope everyone has a creative day!
Krista, The iris you are painting is my late sister's favorite. It is already beautiful. I so love working a little at a time on my paintings, filling in details. It's all so NEW to me, this feeling confidence in my artwork. Like a miracle. So is your work. I love how the richness of the fall petals is emerging. I called this sort of iris "caterpillar" irises when I was little. Your blog's a joy.
Thank you Stephie, Patricia, Julie, Jeannette (you are too kind!), Angela, Christiane, Joan, Sheila, Sandeep and Vicki. The teal color is actually not paint, it is masking fluid, it will be a bright yellow when finished. :)
Wow!!!! You are amazing!!!! Got back last night. Lots of inspiration but no painting. Anxious to get back at it. I see you have been painting up a storm!!!
I am an Artist from the East Coast of Canada. I started this blog to log my journey as an Artist and share my vision with others. I paint primarily in watercolor, I also use soft pastel, acrylic and mixed media. I am a realist painter who loves using strong rich colors to portray what inspires me.
I was published for the first time in the 2010 Apr/May issue of International Artist as a finalist in their flower and garden competition. My entry was show stopper, you can read about it in my March 16th post on my blog.
This is looking gorgeous already Krista...has an almost velvety look to it..
