I have worked some more on the background and I have started putting some of the initial washes on the lily to start getting the shape and form into place. This painting is 16x20.
Krista, I really like how you built up the rich darks in the background. The soft peachy color of the lily is already enhanced by your backgroung. This is going to be another beauty.
Krista, looking forward to this one. Love the color and it will be a beautiful painting. Nice size too. I need to start to " grow my paintings" they've been going smaller and smaller.
I am an Artist from the East Coast of Canada. I started this blog to log my journey as an Artist and share my vision with others. I paint primarily in watercolor, I also use soft pastel, acrylic and mixed media. I am a realist painter who loves using strong rich colors to portray what inspires me.
I was published for the first time in the 2010 Apr/May issue of International Artist as a finalist in their flower and garden competition. My entry was show stopper, you can read about it in my March 16th post on my blog.
