My First Solo Show Ended Today

I went to St. Andrew's today to the gallery to pick up my artwork, it was been overall a great experience having a solo show. I sold 18 paintings and also received a couple of commissions. Thank you to everyone who follows, reads and/or comments on my blog, your support is a wonderful gift that I am lucky to have. Thanks for taking the time :)
Thank you to everyone who attended my show and to everyone who purchased my art, it is greatly appreciated. It makes it all worth while when someone is touch by my art enough to purchase it, enjoy!
Have a great weekend everyone!

First Acrylic painting I did from a Painting Demo by Lorraine Vatcher

OK so I was not even going to post this but i thought hey maybe I can get some good feedback on acrylics. I have never used acrylics or oils i am wondering what every ones take is on them, can you achieve that soft blended look you can with oils?

This is my first painting with acrylic, I found them very different from watercolor, it was not too bad of an experience but is was not easy (bad photo also, any tips on photographing acrylics let me know). Of course the fact that I followed a demo by Lorraine Vatcher helped a lot you can find her demo here: http://www.artinstructionblog.com/learn-acrylic-painting-painting-demo-by-lorraine-vatcher

If anyone has some useful tips for me please feel free to fill me in, I can use all the help I can get lol.
I am still painting with watercolor, I am working on 2 lilies right now, one for an article and the other for a competition so as of right now I can not share the step by steps, I will post them as soon as I can. Thanks :)

A few Photos of birds in the mist I took a while back.

I took these a few years ago when I was starting to get into photography (before I found painting) I have been playing around lately with acrylic and maybe once I get a handle on it I would like to do a series of mist. I am not sure yet we will see if i can get into acrylic, maybe I will have to do them in watercolor :)

Watercolor Painting - Collie Dog Not Done Yet Work in Progress Update 4

I did not get this done today as I was hoping. I still have to refine the eyes and nose along with finishing the shadows and detail for the fur. Hoping to finish this in the morning as I really have to get the other 2 floral paintings done also. Hope everyone has a great weekend thanks for stopping in! :)

Watercolor Painting - Collie Dog Work in Progress Update 3

Still working away! I am hoping to take this fellow into the gallery tomorrow morning to finish him up. After I started to darken the fur the background started looking to blah so I went over it with a light wash of ultramarine blue. I have started his eyes but still have to refine their shape. I still have a lot to do, my shift at the gallery is 4 hours hopefully that will be enough. Hope everyone has a wonderful night.

Happy Painting!

Watercolor Painting - Collie Dog Work in Progress Update 2

Starting to define his marking more and working on the fur. I will probably finish his eyes next.

Watercolor Painting - Collie Dog Work in Progress - Update 1

I am mapping in the markings and laying the foundation for the color of the fur. Not sure about the background yet, I kind of like it now (time will tell)

My Latest Watercolor Painting - Collie Dog Work in Progress

I am still painting away, this is one that I am working on along with 2 other floral paintings. It is a beautiful Collie, I really enjoy painting animals. I have always been an animal lover and always will, they give the unconditional love that I wish everyone could learn to give :)
