White Peony Watercolor Painting - Work in Progress WIP
This is the latest watercolor painting I am working on, it is a White Peony 16x20" on 200lb CP paper. I have started working on the background, I will add a couple more layers before moving to the petals of the peony. These peonies grows in my neighbors garden and they are so beautiful, I can sometimes be found early in the morning in my pjs sneaking through their yard taking pictures, with permission of course (for the pictures not the pj's lol ) Sometimes the light is just perfect and I know if I take the time to get dressed I will miss it. Thank goodness nobody else is up this early on my street :)

This is going to be a real beauty and very impressive at that size.
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I read about your early morning visits to your neighbor's yard: we artist are all the same...I did the same thing quite a few times last summer:-) I will try to grow some peonies this summer to safeguard my pride:-)
I love peonies but they do not grow here. Your background is looking great already. Looking forward to seeing this one develop.
ReplyDeleteKrista, I like your blog, you can find excellent works very realistic, I will come to pass here.
ReplyDeleteGood pictures:)
Great start, Krista. Can't wait to see more. Be careful out there!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking good. We had peonies in a previous garden, they bloomed heavily but not for long. A painting is such a lovely way to preserve their memory!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christiane, Vicki, Manuel, Carol, and Nicky
